Island Of Paradise, named Bali.
No wonder, when you named "Indonesia" and the first thing you remember is Bali.
I think it wise to start my blog with something general kind like explain what is Bali. Its an Island, yes its obvious and everybody know about it. Where culture and history blended with exotic place, made Bali named as "paradise island" the favorite place for holiday and vacation.Bali is an island and province of Indonesia. The province includes the island of Bali and a few smaller neighboring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. It is located at the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. Its capital, Denpasar, is located in the southern part of the island.
The culture was primarily Hindu, while it varies today among various religions.
Bali is sample of pluralism of the world and Indonesia it self. Where culture and believe merge into society. With a population of 4,225,000 as of January 2014, bali island is home to most of Indonesia's Hindu minority. According to the 2010 Census, 83.5% of Bali's population adhered to Balinese Hinduism, followed by 13.4% Muslim, Christianity at 2.5%, and Buddhism 0.5%.Although Hindu is main believe in Bali's people, but it can life in harmony with others religion because "karma", if you doing something good, it will comeback to you, and same thing happen to "bad" thing.
The Hindu Majapahit Empire (1293–1520 AD) on eastern Java founded a Balinese colony in 1343. The uncle of Hayam Wuruk is mentioned in the charters of 1384-86. A mass Javanese immigration to Bali occurred in the next century when the Majapahit Empire fell in 1520. Bali's government then became an independent collection of Hindu kingdoms which led to a Balinese national identity and major enhancements in culture, arts, and economy. The nation with various kingdoms became independent for up to 386 years until 1906, when the Dutch subjugated and repulsed the natives for economic control and took it over.
